Drip irrigation Print E-mail

For more than 30 years Novedades Agrícolas has been designing and installing drip irrigation systems that can be tailored to the specific needs of the client.

A highly specialized technical department studies the best solution for your installation. The preliminary tasks can range from surveying the land with the appropriate instruments in order to obtain the topographical plan with the contours, to the study of the water supply quality, the weather conditions of the site, and the type of soil where the installation will be carried out.

Having the necessary information is essential to be able to determine the pumping set required, the filter head to use, the fertilizer delivery system, the type of drip irrigation to use, the planting frame, as well as the preparation of the design and the necessary calculations following the protocol established in our AENOR certification, in order to calculate the pipe types and diameters that will assure the proper operation of your drip irrigation facility.

Our team of fitters will carry out the assembly of all the elements in the installation, following the established protocol regarding Health and Safety, as well as performing the testing necessary for commissioning the facility. When the installation is completed, our client is given the necessary training in how to manage the facility.

A drip irrigation installation is formed by a set of mechanisms and inter-connected pipes that convey the water enriched with nutrients at the pressure and with the purity necessary for the drip feeders or injectors to carry out the discharge in accordance with their optimum operating curve.

Generally a drip irrigation facility consists of the following component parts:

  • Head: It allows the water to be conveyed to the drip feeders with the flow rate, pressure, purity and concentration of required nutrient elements.
  • Main, secondary and, if necessary, tertiary pipes: They have the job of transporting the water with the fertilizers.
  • Irrigation branches: They are the pipes fitted with the drip feeders with the corresponding injectors and that allow the discharge of the flow rates established.

Inside the head, depending on the study prepared, it will be possible to install different options both in the pumping set and in the filtration system, as well as in the fertilizer delivery system.

Natural pressure Pumping set:

  • Pumps driven by diesel or petrol engine
  • Electric pumps - horizontal, vertical, submersible

Filtration:

  • Hydrocyclone
  • Sand filters
  • Ring filters
  • Automatic cleaning filters

Fertilization:

  • Xilema Fertigation Equipment
  • Fertilizer pumps
  • Conventional spreaders

As for main and secondary pipes, the criterion for using one or the other, or both, will depend on the relief of the land, if they are to be buried or not, the type of soil, etc. The pipes most used are made of PVC and PE.

In what concerns the drip-irrigation pipe and drip feeders, the employment of one version or another will be conditioned by different aspects, which can range from the purely economic to the difference in the level of the land, which can require the use of self-compensating feeders, or the type of soil and plant, which will determine the necessary flow, or the convenience of being buried, which will imply the use of specific models, etc.

We install the widest range of drip feeders that exist at present, which will allow the appropriate solution for your facility.
